What happens when the people that are usually the first to lend a helping hand need help the most?

If you know Josh and Morgan, it’s safe to say that they have somehow impacted your life in one way or another. They work ENDLESS hoursat the gym, yet somehow find time to host blood drives,  help any elderly person in need, andJosh donates his time as a youth paster at church. Did I mention that it seems like almost every homeless person in the area knows them by name after volunteering countless hours at Waters Edge functions? Look up the definition of selfless and I’m pretty sure Webster will have a picture of them in the dictionary.

Anyhow, I’ll try to summarize this as much as possible. Morgan and Josh fully purchased the gym in March 2020. What a month that was (am I right?!) They celebrated their first month of business ownership by trying to figure out how to stay afloat as a small business owner in the midst of an epidemic. Take a second to stop right now and imagine how many grey hairs that would give you. Did that stop their spirit? Nope. They bit the bullet, followed all regulations, and had faith that everything would work out eventually.

Fast forward to August 2020. Their world was torn upside down and the gym, the second home to many of us, was demolished by Hurricane Laura. They were under the impression that this would be covered by their insurance, but due to COVID, they were never able to get everything squared away since so many businesses were closed. They made sure their members and fighters were covered if anything happened and anyone was injured, but the “things” inside the building got put on the back burner

Okay, so the gym, the pride and joy of this couple, is DEMOLISHED, right? Are either one of the sulking over this and demanding people help out? No. They are currently using their time right now to set up a donation station to make sure people in need do not go without the necessities such as dry food, water, and diapers. Check their Facebook page. Did they even ask for anything for themself ? No. Morgan is asking for donations for people in our community, while Josh is trying to get people to help an elderly gentleman in need.

If you ever stepped foot into PE, it’s safe to say, they made you feel welcome, and to most of us it’s turned into our second home.

I know everyone is going through their own disaster right now, but any and every donation will help.
