Help me teach in Uganda!
I have been selected to join a team of teachers who will be venturing to Bwindi, Uganda this summer for one month! Once there, I will be collaborating with teachers from all over the world and together we will be supporting local teachers and students to strategize and empower the community to have a higher quality education.
I have long been interested in Ugandan culture and education and it has always been a dream of mine to travel there and serve the less fortunate. Teaching is so much more than my job to me - it truly is who I am and the best part of my day. My heart aches for the teachers and students in Uganda who walk miles every day to a room with very limited resources, only to go home and have to work in fields, all in hopes of a better life. I want to be a part of making going to school an incredible experience and a worth while way to spend time for the Ugandan children and educators.
I will be working with an organization called LRTT (Limited Resource Teacher Training). To see more about what I will be doing you can visit their website at lrtt.org .
I would be humbled and grateful for any support you can offer. I am looking to raise $4,000 to cover my airfare, accommodations, visa, meals, training and all transportation.
Thank you for helping me be a part of something amazing. I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers and any little bit of finances you can contribute.
