Greetings! We are Shahzeb Ali, Afrasiyab Khan and Muhammad Shaheer, enthusiastic students from the International Islamic University Islamabad, Pakistan, pursuing our bachelor's degree in law. It is with immense pride and a sense of responsibility that we announce our selection to represent our esteemed university at the 44th Jean Pictet Competition. This participation marks a groundbreaking moment, as it is the first instance of our institution's involvement in this globally recognized event.

The Jean Pictet Competition is more than a contest; it is a celebration of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) on an international stage. Our path to securing a place in this prestigious competition was no small feat. Competing against numerous law schools globally, our commitment, hard work, and fervent passion for law have been the cornerstones of our success. The competition is scheduled in Pokhara, Nepal from 19 to 26 April 2024, presenting us with a unique and advantageous chance to showcase our talents in Nepal.

Despite our dedicated preparations, we are encountering financial challenges, particularly regarding travel expenses. We have successfully managed to cover the initial registration fee for the competition, which amounted to 1000 euros ($1090). This significant investment underscores our commitment and belief in the value of this opportunity. However, the hurdle we now face lies in securing sufficient funds for covering our travel expenses. The total amount required under the ambit of travel costs is 3200 euros ($3492), however, we need to generate only 916 euros ($1000) through this platform. With limited avenues available for local sponsorship, we turn to you for support. These grants are essential for us to embark on this journey and represent our university with distinction. Your contribution, whether financial, through spreading the word, or offering encouragement, is invaluable to us.
