This past Monday, Steve found out that Mia has a softball size tumor in her spleen. After an ultrasound, he has been told that her results look good! From what they were able to see, the tumor is still contained within the spleen and has not spread or ruptured. Phew!
As great as that news was, she is not out of the woods yet. The next step would be to have her spleen removed (luckily, it's an organ she can live without) and make sure there is no sign of cancer. As many of you know, unexpected surgeries are a way of life and you have to do what you can for the ones that you love. This Splenectomy is no exception.

For anyone who has met Steve knows that Mia is the most important thing in his life. He would do absolutely anything for that little girl. She has been by his side through thick and thin, she has been his rock. They have traveled the country together, living in 4 different states, enjoying every dog park and body of water they could get to. These two are definitely the defiinition of best friends :)

Please help Steve by giving her the chance for a few more years to ride those San Diego waves she just cannot get enough of!
