We are raising money for our beloved Andiee Hodges and Ernie Garcia, who have just lost their sweet, beautiful of a soul mother on Friday evening. From Andiee and Ernie's facebook: Friends. It’s with a heavy heart that my sister Andiee Hodges and I let you know our mother, Gloria Garcia, passed away last night. She contracted COVID-19 (my sister and I both tested negative immediately after learning of her diagnosis). PLEASE PLEASE encourage your loved ones, especially elderly and those with compromised systems to get vaccinated. We tried to take her several times, but always let her convince us to wait. We’ll have to live with that fact for a long time. If you or anyone you love is hesitant feel free to share our story and do everything you can to persuade them to get vaccinated. It really is our best defense. COVID is real and it’s not gone. Also realize that even if you are vaccinated, you can still catch and carry the virus. The vaccine allows your body to fight it off better. Our Mom was a strong, loving woman who sacrificed so much for us. Though we wish we had more time with her, we take comfort in the fact that she is at peace and reunited with our Dad and her parents. We send our heartfelt gratitude to the medical team at Saint Agnes who literally put themselves in harm’s way to see her through this ordeal. Their kindness and compassion also made this easier for us. We will be planning a celebration of life in the very near future.
