Paying Better Health Forward with Hey Betty!
Don protégé
Hello, my name is Jennifer Davy, I am the CEO and Founder of "Hey Betty!" I am working with an amazing team to build a solution for YOU to bring all the stuff together - apple watch, steps walked, doctor-approved tracking logs, medications, appointments, symptoms, heart rates, blood pressure, action tracking, exercise activity, legal docs, point of care logistics and other wearables into ONE PLACE so you can focus on your health, your parents, your children...even Fido the dog.
Just say "Hey Betty! I have a migraine" and build your log easily to track symptoms and show up at Doctor appointments with data-driven charts to show how often, pain severity, and how much time you ended up 'out of work/out of family time' over a time period of time you select. (No more 3 page emotional reports...good data equals better doctor appointments).
Ultimately, Hey Betty is here to make it easier for you to work, live, and adventure with a chronic condition. Stay in life more by reducing work and costs.
My Story:
I spent years traveling and working in high tech and engineering, then became very sick. Doctors couldn’t figure it out, I ended up out of work for 3 years and needed a wheelchair to get around. While stuck in bed for 16+ hrs a day, I returned to college and got my degree in IT/cyber security (I don’t lay around well and I do not like not working). Then I returned to work at Accenture leading Industry X Engineering digital transformations in the North East. When covid hit, I had less work travel and was able to see doctors more often. I found a few conditions they had not tested me for - tethered cord was one of them and neurosurgery confirmed this as my condition. I had surgery and was skiing 9 months later.
Now it’s not perfect, it took too long, some things can't be reversed and along the way, there was a big life cost to this:
1. Diagnosis and treatment didn't match. ($150 week IV infusions for months paid for would have been covered if insurance and diagnosis were accurately documented).
2.Medication reports didn't match between doctors (was this why I ended up with seizures?)
3. The logistics were impossible, my husband was in Boston all day and I couldn’t drive. So kid's appointments, school, grocery stores and just getting out - was not an option. I tried, ask the dozens of ambulances...oh boy did I try!
4. $130K spent/loss despite having great insurance
5. I missed out on SOO much….With family, work, friends, adventures and my body deconditioned.
But others do not have to miss out, they don’t have to overspend and they don't’ have to take on the new role of CEO of medical issues. This is absolutely an ask of charity. And I thank you so very much for your time in donating and sharing this campaign. I can’t wait to dedicate my time and this solution to helping others.
Any amount will be greatly appreciated and help keep our team focused on making a difference and improving healthcare at home. These funds will be invested in the development of the Beta and for collecting design priorities from users. We have already met with dozens of users, but we want to meet with thousands. That takes time and funds.
My asks:
1. Donate (anything, $5 is greatly appreciated!)
2. Share this request with your network and ask the same.
You may already know someone that needs Hey Betty, you may need it or you may need it in the future....won't it be nice if that is an option for you? It wasn't for me when I needed it. Let's fix that for everyone else.
