Senior Dues for Students in Temporary Housing

Hi, my name is Heather, and I'm organizing this fundraiser for the PTA of Charles O. Dewey to help students in need pay their 8th-grade senior dues.

The money requested is to cover the 8th-grade senior dues for students in temporary housing (STH). These are students residing in shelters, foster care, or doubled up and experiencing insecurity in their homes. School funds and community-based organization support have provided school supplies, clothing, coats, personal care items, and emergency food to support STH and their families. But there are some expenses that they need help with.

Senior dues cover expenses associated with graduation (e.g., graduation ceremony, gown, printing costs, diploma case, yearbook, senior t-shirt, and graduation program). Our Parent Coordinator and PTA have raised funds through bake sales and private donations to cover the senior dues for some students in temporary housing, but they are still short. With a community that is stretched thin and in need of many resources for a population in need, they need your help.

The requested amount will go directly to the Parent Association of Charles O. Dewey (Ana-Maria Quezada is the PTA Treasurer) to pay the dues for students in temporary housing. Any funds donated over the requested amount will be used for school supplies next year.

Despite their many challenges, these young people are here and motivated to come to school every day with a smile on their faces. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated.
