medical bill$ for iggy knabb

& then there was the time when our baby was born three months premature & we somehow ended up with minimal hospital bills & we could not believe our luck until almost one year later when SURPRISE, ALL THE BILL$! Isn't it fun when that happens? We've been paying bills a little each month and are on several payment plans but this month we've received two bills for several thousand each and at this point we are drowning and could use some help. While the amount we're asking for won't pay all of our medical debt it will stabilize us and allow us to make realistic monthly payments and still be able to do things like buy groceries and have internet.

For those of you who don't know: our handsome Fatty Chops Ignatius Scott Knabb was born at 28 weeks old last fall. His due date was December 13 and he was born September 22. Yikes, right? I was hospitalized a few weeks before his birth trying to hold him in, I was in labor for 13 days (FUN), but he was just ready to party and out he came. After that it was a long three months in the NICU for us three but we survived it and Iggy is now the fattest baby in town. He is about to celebrate his 1st birthday and you would never know he was born a tiny, preemie skeletor.

At that time lots of our friends offered to start up fundraisers for us and we were really hesitant to accept the help because we are stubborn and although we really could have used the money since we lived an hour away from the hospital and had crazy commutes and Ronald McDonald House stays, but since the hospital kept telling us we didn't have any crazy bills, we got by that fall selling our dirty underwear on Craigslist. Our insurance was billed, but we never received anything for co-pays etc. So I guess let's pretend we are back in the NICU and GIVE US ALL YOUR MONEY.

Please enjoy this never before seen video of Jacob holding Iggy for the first time! We weren't allowed to really touch Iggy for the first two weeks of his life (I didn't even get to see him after I birthed him, they immediately took him off to the NICU to be set up in his incubator home). We were so afraid to hold him. Look how tiny he was and how many tubes and cords there were... ah. Good times.

Thanks!

Jacob, Kelly, Ignatius, Marvin, & Salomé Knabb
