Pay for housing during cancer treatment

Hi, my name is Jenna! In September of last year, I was having difficulty breathing and found out I had a large tumor in my chest. Turns out it was cancer and I was diagnosed with high grade Non-Hodgkins B-Cell Lymphoma. Since then I have received a round of life-saving R-CHOP chemo therapy, undergone heart surgery to drain the fluid from my heart, biopsies, got a port placed in my chest, several rounds of chemotherapy, a blood transfusion, etc. The chemo shrunk the tumor and killed some of the cancer cells, but they did another biopsy a few months ago and found out there’s another cancer cell that has been multiplying in the tumor. Chemotherapy is no longer an option, so the next step is to receive CAR-T therapy. That’s a type of treatment/transplant in which a patient's T cells (a type of immune cell) are changed in the laboratory so they will bind to cancer cells and kill them. In order for someone to receive this treatment, they need to have a bunch of tests completed, which I’ve been doing for the last few weeks. Video assisted thorascoscopic surgery, a bone marrow biopsy, a spinal tap, and a bunch of labs and appointments with several doctors. I’ll be admitted at Rush for 3-6 weeks depending on the severity of the side effects, and afterwards its mandatory that I stay near the hospital (downtown Chicago) for another 3-6 weeks. The reason for that is because Rush is a Transplant hospital, and they’re the only ones equipped to manage any potential side effects. It’s also mandatory that I have a caregiver with me 100% of the time, in and out of the hospital. I’m so thankful for the insurance I have, but Chicago is expensive and the housing I’ll need isn’t covered by my insurance. The last thing I want to do is ask for help but if you’re able to, I would appreciate it more than you know. And if not, a prayer goes a long long way. Thank you all so much.
