Pay for house repairs

Our names are Ben, Di, and The Child. This past August we had several things break in our house all at once, resulting in a major flood. 80% of the house's floor area had to be ripped up, and the kitchen and bathroom had to be replaced. Insurance covered most of the repairs, with the rest being an ongoing project. We also took out a HELOC to assist. Ultimately, however, huge portions of our extra living expenses and the construction costs had to be put on credit cards.

Our financial situation wasn't great in the first place. Di can't work due to physical and mental health issues, but we have not been able to fight our way through the disability system because we have been trying to find services for The Child, who is a non verbal 7 year old on the autism spectrum. As a result, we are trying to survive on a single low level government salary.

As a result, we are not able to make our monthly bills. If we could clear out the credit cards we ran up paying for the house repairs we would be able to start fighting back, which is why we need your help. We aren't living extravagant lives. Our little family just needs some help coming back from a disaster.
