Dear Family & Friends,
Our Story: My husband and I returned to India after living in the USA for nearly 44 years. We feel very blessed that we are able to establish a mission here to help those in need. There are many children around us that require a helping hand. I have been visiting many of them regularly and experiencing first hand how they live and how helpless many are. Seeing this helplessness among children gave us a purpose...to fulfill some of their innocent dreams as these youngsters grow up. We have been offering a helping hand to several of these children over the past year and it feels like we are in the “receiving end” ...amazing feeling! To GIVE!
Did You Know: Less than half of India's children between the age 6 and 14 go to school. A little over one-third of all children who enroll in grade one reach grade eight. At least 35 million children aged 6 - 14 years do not attend school. 53% of girls in the age group of 5 to 9 years are illiterate. While education is every child's basic right, severe poverty and deprivation, population growth, war zones and natural catastrophes are depriving many children of a world of books and learning. India's literacy rateis about 74% - leaving a quarter of the population without basic reading and writing skills.
Goal: We will create an annual fundraising campaign for this worthy cause. Therefore, we request a humble donation towards fulfilling these children’s dreams: food, clothing, school supplies and transportation. We hope to receive $2,500 from family and friends each year in addition to our own contributions. If you are interested in sponsoring your own child, please let me know so I can make special arrangements.
We will provide you with all accountability of funds collected and children benefited. Photos will be posted on our Facebook page.
We are hoping to see gracious responses and contributions from each of you. Every penny counts!
