Paving Eric’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On Monday, July 8th, Eric Hardesty was in a terrible accident while returning to Ohio from a horse show in Ludington, Michigan. After encountering construction on southbound US 31, Eric lost control of his truck and overturned his trailer. His truck plunged 25 feet off a bridge onto a secondary road. His fiancé, Amy Engelskirger, was driving in the vehicle behind him and watched, helpless, as the truck teetered at the edge of the bridge before crashing below.

Eric had to be extracted from his truck using the jaws of life. He was rushed to the hospital with a fractured vertebra in his neck, concussion, other head injuries, and multiple other cuts and bruises. Thanks to the efforts of the paramedics at the scene and the wonderful medical staff at Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus in Muskegon, Eric is expected to make a full recovery. His truck and trailer were totaled in the crash.

About this GoFundMe
Eric’s road to recovery will be a long and expensive one. He is unable to work while the fracture in his neck heals. For the next three months, he will be unable to turn his head left or right. Eric is a well-known equine photographer. His truck and trailer were totaled, and some of his equipment was damaged in the crash.

We are starting this fundraiser in hopes to alleviate some of the financial burden he is about to undertake. During this time, Eric needs to rest, heal, and not worry about the bills to come.

Please help us spread the word about this effort by sharing this link on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or by email. Every little bit helps.

A Message from the Family
We are optimistic about Eric’s recovery. We are overwhelmed by the support and love we have received from Eric’s friends and colleagues all over the country. Thank you everyone for your prayers, kind texts, and overall support. Please keep the prayers coming and keep Eric and Amy in your thoughts.
