My name is Courtney and the man in this photo is my husband of 6 years. A little backstory on us. Paul is 28, I am 25. We have 3 beautiful kids, David who is five, Elizaveta(Ellie) who is 4 and Olivia who is about to be one on July 22nd. My husband was a owner operator and we had just purchased this semi truck in hopes of bettering our future. My husband hydroplaned in Muskegon Michigan; resulting in him slamming into the concrete under a bridge from weather conditions. By the grace of god and gods hands on him he somehow survived and was pulled from the wreckage. I can’t believe my eyes that my husband is still here and the truck is completely demolished and isn’t there anymore. My husband sustained some serious injuries but thankfully no major major injuries. He has had his many cracked pelvis repaired, his hips that were fractured repaired; both with screws. He snapped his femur with such a terrible snap they had to use the titanium steel in his leg. He also sustained some injuries to his spinal and lower back. His arm will need a skin graft and he also broke his wrist. Received countless stitches almost everywhere; and has also quite a few cracked ribs.
I’ll never be able to repay what everyone has already done with prayers and support and I’ll try my hardest to express what this has meant to me. I’m way out of my comfort zone and I’m a mess but I’m so thankful I can still kiss my husband and my kids still have their big daddy.
I drove 300 miles with my youngest Olivia and am currently staying at the Fairfield Inn on East MT. Garfield road; thanks to Eric Stratton in Muskegon.
We live happily together in Rockford, Loves park Illinois.
I just continue to ask for prayer as Paul will need in patient rehab to learn how to walk and use his lower half of his body again,
I wanted to express complete appreciation for the support I’ve already received; feeling the love and care of a community is something I’ll never be able to say enough thank you for. My husband is still in the icu and will remain there for a bit.
Thank you for everything and if you do donate please I want to reach out and personally thank you because this is something that has been one of the hardest things in our lives.
