Paula's New Home Fund

Paula McClom-Jones, the secretary of Lake Harriet Community School (seen here with her daughter at a book signing for Resmaa Menakem), has been a mainstay and lifesaver to many of us for years and years.  Paula has a way of making every student feel welcomed and loved.  My kids repeatedly arrived late to school (usually because of my own untreated depression), but Paula always understood.  Now, Paula is going through a difficult period of her life--trying to buy a house, make sure her eighteen-year-old gets help, raise her vibrant third-grader, and hold onto her own hard-won mental health.  Our help could make a huge difference.  Let's "be there" for HER the way she has steadily been there for us and the entire Lake Harriet community through thick and thin!
A few more details:  I am a friend of Paula's and a former Lake Harriet Community School parent.  I am originally from Peoria, Illinois, but have lived in Southwest Minneapolis for the past 22 years.  Since Paula wanted me to handle the details, these funds will be deposited into my bank account and I will write Paula a check when we are done with the campaign.  The funds will be used for all the extra expenses of Paula becoming a homeowner.  We all know how hard it is to make ends meet while working in the public schools.  Thank you for sharing your resources to make this happen!
