Paula Spangler's broken ankle fund

             In the wee hours on October 4th I fell and rolled my ankle getting out of bed. At the  emergency room  the x-ray results  showed a dislocated  ankle and broke three bones. Unfortunately surgery has been rescheduled twice because I'm uninsured . On 10/9 I received an external  fixator to reduce swelling and prepare my ankle for surgery. So I am waiting for surgery sometime the week of the 16th. 

I truly love my job as a hairstylist. Being self employed has its pros and cons. The biggest and most taxing con is not having benefits. My biggest worry is the amount of time I have and will need to take off with no income. I don't have aflack or any other kind of supplemental income. I have no savings to fall back on.  The doctor says I will need 8 to 12 weeks to recover. That doesn't include physical therapy, doctors visits, and weeks of lost work. Looking ahead this financial obligation is insurmountable.

If you know me I am not the person who asks for handouts. So this is very hard for me.  These funds will help me cover most of my bills and lost income. This funding will also help me with my medical expenses and to care for my 16 year old son. 

My gratitude for each dollar gifted is beyond all measures. I will be forever thankful for donations, warm wishes, thoughts and prayers. I have a lot of hope and my spirit is yet to be broken. Thank you for your time .  Please  spread the word.
