Paul McNeil's 4th Boston Marathon

On June 30th, 2013 I finally quit cigarettes after nearly twenty years of smoking. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but I knew I had to do it not only for my three kids and family, but also for myself.

With quitting such an addicting habit, I decided to try something that I could never do when I was a smoker; and that was running. At first it was hard, however, slowly but surely,  running became my new addiction. Instead of spending money on something that was destroying my health, I began to put it towards signing up for the next 5k or new running sneakers. If you're friends with me on facebook or know me in real life; you know that this isn't an exaggeration; running has become my greatest passion and it fuels my spirit!

Through  divorce,  battling anxiety, and depression over the years, I have learned that setting goals for myself and having something to look forward to is what gets me by. For the fourth time since 2013, I have decided that I am going to run the Boston Marathon in April of 2020.  Nothing makes me more excited than to run across the finish line again in the beautiful city of Boston. 

With that being said, I have created this "Go Fund Me" for anyone who wishes to help me accomplish my dream again. All of the money raised will be going to the Hopkinton Police Department, where my cousin, Matt McNeil is a police sergeant. Hopkinton is where the Boston Marathon begins every year, and their police department has so graciously chosen to give me a bib number for the fourth time. The Hopkinton Police keep the runners safe every year as well as using the money raised for their community.
