Paul Kochu Nursing Student Scholarship

On December 15, 2014 we received a call from Pittsburgh asking if we had heard from Paul. We had not. When Paul did not report to work at Allegheny General Hospital two days later we drove to Pittsburgh to find out why. It was not until mid-March 2015 that we were notified that a body had been found in the Ohio River near Wheeling, West Virginia. It took a week to positively identify the body as Paul Kochu.
In the years since, we have had the support of not only our hometown of Bucktown,PA but also that of the residents of Pittsburgh. We sincerely appreciate the thoughts and generosity of all of you.
This fundraiser is being established in order to present a scholarship to a graduating Owen J. Roberts High School student who intends to pursue a degree in Nursing...Paul's chosen profession and life-long dream. We can think of no better way to honor his life than to help another student fulfill their ambition in the field of Nursing.
We will always love you Paul and will keep your memory alive and well by helping others just as you intended to do.
