Patty's West Nile Virus Battle

On Saturday, September 9th my Dad Al took my Mom Patty to the hospital. She has been a type 1 Diabetic for 40 years, and so my Dad knows better than to take any chances with her health. She had been feeling "off" for a week, suffering from fatigue, and no appetite. By Saturday she was dry heaving.
Mom is now going on day 5 in the hospital. Her mysterious illness consists of severe stomach pain, fever, disorientation, nausea, diarrhea, and has now progressed to include body tremors. We are really scared, as my Mom is an old pro at Diabetes related hospital visits-- but this is different; it is the most ill she has ever been. They finally tested her spinal fluid for West Nile Virus, and the Doctor is 99% sure that the test will come back positive. And "lucky" her, thanks to Diabetes weakening her immune response-- the Virus has progressed to the encephalitis stage.
My parents do have insurance through my Dad's job, but we honestly have no idea how long she will be in the hospital. Could be 2 weeks; could be a month. I am worried that this may really hurt my parents financially.

We adore our Mom so much. And we are supremely greatful to our Dad, who has always been Mom's hero.
