Pattrick's Cancer Treatment

You may have grown up with Pattrick in Grand Rapids, MI or attended City High School, Grand Rapids Junior College or Davenport College with him. You may have worked with him when he was a photographer with The Grand Rapids Press, the Advance Newspapers, or when he was a motion news photographer with WKZO TV or while he was interning with WOOD TV. Or you may be in one of the thousands upon thousands of pictures he has taken as the Michigan Senate photographer.

Personally, I met Pattrick back in 1995 and ever since he has been a constant friend and source of support to me and my family. Now, he and his family need support and I hope you can join me.

Pattrick was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in 2013, at which time he had radiation treatment at Beaumont Cancer Center in Michigan.

With four years of close monitoring and regular PSA testing it was determined that the cancer had not been eradicated. At this time Pattrick is seeking treatment for the cancer a second time. Treatment options are fewer now and can have adverse side effects. He is worried about how this will affect his life and his family’s future.

Finding the best treatment plan and location is his main goal now. He started seeking help at the U of M soon after being re-diagnosed but found that the options there are limited. He is now seeking treatments from The Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, Illinois as well as MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. Whatever treatment plan that offers the greatest chance of eradication and cure will also come with many expenses.

Pattrick and his wife Stacie have five kids — four sons and one daughter. They live with their 6- and 7-year-old special needs boys near Onondaga, Michigan.

Pattrick’s wife Stacie can’t work because she is taking care of their 2 special needs children and the hardship of future treatments is why we are seeking help. Although health insurance will cover some of the treatment costs, Pattrick and his family will face expenses that will not be covered by insurance, including travels costs, lodging, meals, and other expenses.

Thank you for considering helping support Pattrick and his family with the costs associated with his cancer treatment.
