Patrick Polson's Final Expenses

Donation protected
On September 6th, the world grew a little darker as a great human being and friend suffered a terrible tragedy. Then, on September 9th, Patrick Polson gave the final gift of life to many others through his death at just 28 years old.  Patrick will be remembered by many as a hero: both in his life's work as an EMT, Paramedic and ER/ICU Nurse, and after death through the miracle of organ donation.
Over years of service, his extended family grew and grew as everyone who met this amazing soul became like a brother and sister, whether they intended to at first or not. Patrick had a way of breaking down even the toughest of shells, until, before you knew it, the highlight of your shift was seeing that goofy, cock-headed smile and getting one of the biggest hugs you'd ever receive. His laugh emanated through ER halls and it physically pains me to imagine never hearing it again.
Patrick had a way of making you feel like you were so much more than yourself. Like you were a superhero, a rockstar, someone who deserved to be looked at the way he looked at you, someone deserving the surplus of unconditional love he gave out like candy. He made the worst nights at work in the ER into the best. HE made us into the A-team. He faced every challenge that came our way head on, with such confidence, bravery, integrity and a lot of much needed humor. He could diffuse any hard situation, angry patient, frustrated physician and straighten up our ER almost single-handedly.
Patrick was an ally to every patient, co-worker, police officer and EMS personel that came through our doors. He never discriminated, hated, complained or slacked. He always gave 100%, even when a code came rolling through the ambulance bay at 7am.
I never imagined a world without him in it. I never imagined a person so full of life and laughter and happiness could be gone so soon. But I know that each and every one of us are better people for knowing him. I know that there's an aching hole in our hearts that will never be filled, but that they are bigger for having had Patrick in them.
Patrick was dedicated to helping others, to saving lives, and we can all help save his family this one last worry. Please donate what you can as one last thank you to a true hero and help ease his family's burden.

Remember to always think of Patrick and smile.

                                                       I love you, "Patrice".
