We've been working on this album for a long time.
It started almost 7 years ago when Philip wrote a bunch of songs after a breakup. It wasn't long before he had enough for an album and a friend came over to help him start recording them in his bedroom.
Before Philip finished recording all songs as a solo album, Will said he wanted to play together sometime. We formed a band, The Tire Fires.
Will is an amazing bass player and instantly made every song infinitely better, so we scrapped the solo recordings and started from scratch. We recorded with the same friend at their house on better equipment. The producer was also adding drums and everything was sounding better than ever.
We had everything recorded (save 1 vocal track) when the friend ghosted us. He kept canceling our sessions at the last minute and it would take months to find a date to reschedule. The time between sessions (and even texts) grew exponentially - days, weeks, months - until we simply couldn't get him to respond at all anymore.
We were so close to done, but he had all of the files, and we couldn't get him to respond.
By this point we had become friends with a great local band, The Old Smugglers, who offered to record our album in their studio. We got to work, once again starting from scratch. What we thought would take a few months has taken more than a year, but it's nearly complete. We're in the final stages of mixing, and all that remains is production.
That's where we need your help.
We need $1000 to over the costs of physically producing the album. If you intend to buy the album, it would greatly help us if you pre-order it. You can also order a Tire Fires T shirt and/or hire us to perform private shows for you and your friends.
People have been asking for nearly 7 years when the album will be ready, and as soon as we raise the money to press the album, it will be. We will be playing more and more live shows leading up to an album release show.
