Passage Rep Team Ireland in World Rowing Finals

Dreams can come true!!! Passage West Rowing Club can confirm that we have had 2 crews qualify to represent Team Ireland in the upcoming World Coastal Rowing Championships that will take place from the 29th September - 3rd October 2021 in Oeiras, Portugal.

It was a great day for our club being the first club in the East Cork region and our first time participating in the qualifying regatta, organised by Arklow Rowing Club and Wicklow Rowing Club on Saturday, 7th of August.

Our crews that participated and will now go on to wear the Irish tri-colour over in Portugal are:

* Men’s Quad: Gavin O’Flaherty, Robert Diffley, Patrick O’Sullivan, James Kind, Martin Murphy-Cox (Ranked IRL02 for the worlds)

* Women Quad - Tina O’Sullivan, Hazel Murphy, Kathy Galvin, Kay Murphy, Martin Murphy-Cox (Ranked IRL04 for the worlds)

Though this is an amazing opportunity for all our rowers, it does come with a large financial responsibility for our athletes. Donations will cover: airfare, accommodation, uniforms, boat and oar rentals, coaching/training fees, transport, race entry fee, photographs and any miscellaneous costs of the event. Any excess donations will be donated to Passage West Rowing Club.
