Park Meridian Apartment Fire
A devastating fire on Saturday, August 5, at the Park Meridian Apartments in North Seattle claimed the homes of about 70 people, including many low-income and immigrant families. Most of them lost everything. They are being assisted by relatives, friends, and the Red Cross, but this is only temporary aid. These folks need to rebuild their lives from scratch in a city with the fastest-rising housing costs in the entire United States. We are calling on the local and wider communities for help. All of the money raised will be distibuted to the families and individuals who were displaced by this disaster.
I am a college instructor and a Seattle native. My family and I live in the same neighbohood as the Park Meridian. We are working with the City of Seattle to find a non-profit agency that will handle cash distributions from this fund. Please give generously. Thank you!
