Firefighters continue to battle the Camp Fire, which began along Camp Creek Rd., outside of Paradise CA on Thursday Nov. 8th. As of today, Friday November 9th, it has consumed approximately 70,000 acres in just over 24 hours. It is at 5% containment at this time. Evacuations took place for the entire town of Paradise California yesterday. This fire has moved fast, burning approximately 80 acres per minute. Evacuation routes were so clogged that many were forced to abandon their cars & flee on foot.
My brother & sister-in-law were able to get themselves, their 2 dogs, and a change of clothes out but nothing else. They have fire insurance but have not been able to get through to their agent yet. Their coverage is not comprehensive so they will be paying out of pocket for alternate living expenses on top of their mortgage while this gets settled. They are also in need of a few immediate resources such as clothes & pet supplies. If you have clothing in GOOD shape in the following sizes or if you have some pet supplies that they need & can donate please message me with photos & I can help arrange how to get the item(s) to them.
Women’s 16 pant, 18/20 tops (average to short) She will need everything... work clothes (insurance office), pajamas, jackets & casual clothes. 9.5 shoe. Looking for business casual shoes, slippers, and casual shoes please.
Men’s shorts (which he wears through winter- it’s not cold there for long) in 44 & 2xl shirts. Men’s shoes: 11.5 regular or 11 wide (high arches)
(Golf shoes would be great! They don’t have a lot of money but he loves to play golf. I’m hoping he will be able to do that to help him relax soon!)
Women’s 18/20 (average to tall for shirts) shirts, light coats, coats, pajamas, & pants. Size 10 shoe. Specifically would like some sneakers at some point but other quality comfortable shoes in good to excellent condition will be great too.
Pets: 2 big dogs- (85#)
-2 Dog beds
-Topical flea meds & Heartguard
-Med-Large heavy crock water & food bowls (they are boisterous boys- they will tip light weight bowls)
-They just have the crappy leashes they grabbed on the way out so some heavier (big dog) leashes would be good.
