Para Abuela: Bringing grandma here!

As most of you know, our beloved island of Puerto Rico was hit very hard by Hurricane Maria. My grandmother lives there, in the town of Hatillo, alone. She has been without power for over a week now, and counting. We need to bring her back here to NY/NJ/PA until it's safe for her to go back. 

So many of you have been asking how you can help.  My mom and I (and whole family) appreciate it so much, so we decided to set up this page. 

I've roughly estimated $3,000 to be able to cover most of the costs, hopefully. Between the flights, the rides to and from the airport (which will be more expensive than usual, since gasoline is so scarce right now),  Plus any other supplies and food. Fortunately the donations have already started to come in, in person. So we're setting the goal at $2,000. 

Time is, of course, of the essence. We are booking two flights for my mom and uncle next week. We originally tried for sooner, but only emergency and military flights are currently allowed. 

I'll be updating with any other info, and with other places to donate, as the island and our people will need much more help for a long while now.
