Pappy's Healing Fund

On May 15th, 2017 my father, James Hileman (aka Super Pappy), had a massive stroke that left him paralyzed on the left side of his body.

Super Pappy is currently in a rehabilitation facility but will have to come home by the end of September because the VA will only pay for a 90 day stay.  He does not have other health insurance to allow him to stay longer.

According to the doctors, he will be wheelchair bound indefinitely.  He is going to need a conversion van for transport, the house will have to be made handicapped accessible and a wheelchair ramp will need to be put in the front of the house.

The VA is going to help with the cost of a wheelchair ramp for the front of the house so he can get in and out but they are not going to help pay for a conversion van for him since this issue is not service connected.  We do not know if they will assist with the cost of getting the house handicapped accessible and if they do, how much they will help with.  They also will not provide in home nursing care for him.

The conversion vans are extremely expensive, costing between $50,000 and $60,000.  We do not know how much it will cost to have the house made ready.

Our mother will have to work full-time in order to pay bills so she will not be able to be home 24 hours a day to provide care for our father.  She will have to hire someone to come into the home while she is working.

We know that it is a lot to ask but please consider donating any amount that you can to help with the cost of all of our father's needs for when he comes home.  Also, please share this as much and with as many people as possible so our dad's story gets out there.

We are trying to raise as much as we can as quickly as we can due to him having to come home soon.
