Our camp leader is known to the world as Pollo. Over time he has gathered up each one of us and brought us together to form a group of friends that would not exist otherwise. That group is PG Squirt House.

PG Squirt House began as a burning man camp in 2018 but with Pollo’s relentless efforts, has expanded to become an extensive community off-playa as well. On the Playa PG Squirt House is a large lounge space and bar where people can come in off the street to relax and have a drink before heading out to, or back from the Playa. Off-playa, the vision of PG Squirt House is to be a place where people who are new to San Diego (our hometown) or new to the house music scene can feel welcome and safe to express and develop themselves and their creative potential. Therefore, in a somewhat literal (but we think fun) homage, we have chosen to create Papi Gallo, PG Squirt House’s official art car and the chicken coop that he pulls.

Papi Gallo’s mission on playa will be to pay forward what Pollo has done for us all by picking up fellow burners and adding them to our coop (the trailer). In the trailer fellow burners will find a safe, comfortable space to hang out and meet new people all while experiencing the magic of Burning Man. The ability to feel supported and welcomed, all while having amazing experiences along the way is what PG Squirt House is all about. Papi Gallo will promote radical inclusion, immediacy, participation, and of course, gifting. Importantly, for those of us who have developed PG Squirt House from a brand new un-placed camp in 2018 to the thriving community it is now, the creation of Papi Gallo represents a real communal effort within PG Squirt House itself to give something extra back to the Burning Man community.

Papi Gallo will fit well with this year’s theme: Animalia. Roosters strut, they are bold, and they announce themselves in life. Roosters have well-established cultural mythos, from the Chinese Zodiac, to weathervanes, to Foghorn-Leghorn in Looney Tunes, they have made their impact on the human psyche. Papi Gallo’s presence on the playa should remind everyone of the strength and symbolism of the rooster, all while balancing this strength with the safety of a chicken coop.

The coop is a warm place of incubation, of protection, and represents the beginning of the journey towards becoming a strong and powerful rooster. At times we all need some care and sometimes to develop before we are ready to come out into the world. For many burners, the week of incubation and love they experience at burning man is sacred. We hope to symbolize this journey with our chicken coop led by proud Papi Gallo. We hope that those that join us in the coop feel a sense of safety, connection, and feel free to set out on their own whenever they feel ready.

The project consists of a mutation from a motorcycle to Papi Gallo (PG), featuring 3 rear wheels and 1 front wheel.

PG is a 1984 Honda Goldwing GL1200. The motorcycle was first transformed by welding a trike kit on it and adding 2 tires next to the rear wheel, the same way you would add training wheels to a kid's bike, the vehicle has a total of 4 tires, 2 motorcycle tires and 2 regular car tires at the back.

We will use a trailer to transport PG to Burning Man, which will also be part complete art car as PG will tow it on the playa.
