How much is the life of your child worth?
We all know there is nothing you would not do to save the life of your son or daughter.
Our daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2017 in Bogota Colombia. It was almost 3 months before she began chemo because of insurance delays. It was another 3 months before she told us because she didn’t want us to worry. We are the ones put on this earth to protect our children, not the other way around. When she called us, we all cried and talked for hours and told her we are there for her. Any of you who a child or love one with an illness know the pain and anguish you go through.
Paola is only 31 years old. She is an artist, a teacher and loves nature, art, animals and the outdoors. If you want to know her work, please check her website: paolaferreiraborda.com. She approached this treatment with a positive attitude and hope that this awful cancer could be stopped. But near the end of the first round of treatment of treatments they found the cancer was still growing and the breast had to be removed.
We were hopeful that was the end of it and she could begin to live life again. That was not the case. The cancer had spread to the lungs and they began another round of chemo with a very strong chemical which is like a poison to the body. After the second round of chemo and scans the cancer was still spreading.
The doctors wanted to continue a 3rd round of chemo. That is where Paola made the decision and said, “NO MORE”. The doctors said if she stopped her “quality of life” would be less and she would die more quickly. Her response was that feeling tired and sick 5 out of 7 days is not a good life. She made the difficult decision to live her life without the poison in her body and try an alternate therapy. Insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.
You see so many claims of cures for cancer. Most of them are just false promises which do nothing more than leave you without hope and money. Every parent does not want to think they didn’t do everything they can to save their child’s life. In our case the mother of one of Paola’s best friends had the same situation with breast cancer that spread to her lungs. She followed that same path Paola is choosing now. That was ten years ago.
Paola began taking transfusions and changing to a vegan diet along with other life style changes. These improved her strength and ability to cope with the chemo treatments. It has been 3 weeks since her last chemo treatment and she is feeling better and starting to grow her hair and eye brows back.
Insurance does not cover the cost of alternative treatments. This treatment is based on Gerson Therapy. We need your help to help Paola with the treatments. We don’t know how many treatments she will need. We are using our retirement as well as credit cards to give Paola a fighting chance. All of this makes you realize what is important in life. Your family, your children, your friends.

¿Cuánto vale la vida de tu hijo?
Todos sabemos que no hay nada que no haría para salvar la vida de su hijo o hija.
Nuestra hija fue diagnosticada con cancer de seno en marzo de 2017 en Bogotá, Colombia. Pasaron casi 3 meses antes de que comenzara la quimioterapia debido a demoras con el Seguro medico . Tambien otros 3 meses antes de que ella nos lo dijera porque no quería que nos preocuparamos. Estamos aqui para proteger a nuestros niños, y no al revés. Cuando nos llamó, lloramos y hablamos durante horas y le dijimos que estábamos aqui para ella. Cualquiera de ustedes que tenga un hijo que aman o alguien con una enfermedad como esta, conoce el dolor y la angustia que atraviesa.

Pero cerca del final de la primera ronda del tratamientos descubrieron que el cáncer aún estaba creciendo y que debían extraerle el seno.
Estábamos esperanzados de que ese fuera el final y ella pudiera comenzar a vivir la vida nuevamente. Ese no fue el caso. El cáncer se había extendido a los pulmones y comenzaron otra ronda de quimioterapia con un químico muy fuerte que ingreso mas veneno a su cuerpo. Después de la segunda ronda de quimioterapia y scans, el cáncer aún se estaba propagando.

Los doctores querían continuar con una tercera ronda de quimioterapia. Ahí es donde Paola tomó la decisión y dijo: "NO MÁS". Los médicos dijeron que si ella detenia su "calidad de vida" sería menos y moriría más rápidamente. Su respuesta a la quimioterapia fue sentirse cansada y enferma 5 de 7 días y eso no es una buena vida. Ella tomó la difícil decisión de vivir su vida sin el veneno en su cuerpo y probar una terapia alternativa. Locura es seguir haciendo lo mismo y esperar resultados diferentes.
Vemos tantos clamores de curas para el cáncer. La mayoría de ellas son falsas promesas que no hacen más que dejarte sin esperanza y dinero. Los padres no queremos pensar que no hicimos todo lo que se puede para salvar la vida de nuestros hijos. En nuestro caso, la madre de una de las mejores amigas de Paola tuvo la misma situación con el cáncer de mama que se extendió a sus pulmones. Ella siguió el mismo camino que Paola está eligiendo ahora y de eso hace ya diez años.
Paola comenzó a tomar sueros alcalinos con nutrientes y cambiar a una dieta vegana junto con otros cambios en el estilo de vida. Estos mejoraron su fuerza y capacidad para hacer frente a los tratamientos de quimioterapia. Han pasado 3 semanas desde su último tratamiento de quimioterapia y ella se siente mejor y comienza a crecer su cabello y sus cejas porque su cuerpo se esta desintoxicando.
El Seguro medico no cubre el costo de tratamientos alternativos. Este tratamiento se basa en la Terapia Gerson. Necesitamos su ayuda para ayudar a Paola con los tratamientos. No sabemos cuántos tratamientos necesitará. Estamos utilizando nuestra jubilación y nuestras tarjetas de crédito para darle a Paola una oportunidad de luchar.
