Pancreatic cancer research
Donation protected
My mother Marta, in December 2014 has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
When we saw the diagnosis all the family was kind of desperate since we have all heard how aggressive this kind of tumor is. We were fortunate enough to have the diagnosis very early in time and learned this is key for recovery even from this kind of cancer.
Marta has now gone through a first surgery and chemio cycle which has been very hard to bear, especially because of the quantity and type of treatment which by the way was experimental; she is so strong, phisically and mentally and could overcome this treatment and go back to an almost regular life. In summer 2016 she had a second surgery on her lung, and we have learned this is one of the least serious evolution of the disease.
Pancreatic cancer is rapidly spreading among population especially because it is asymptomatic and difficult to detect at early stages
However, cares are evolving with some good results and research is really key to find treatment.
These funds will be given to Pancreatic research department of San Raffaele Hospital, which is one of the most advanced pancreatic care department in Europe.
Please help Marta and all of us to find a solution!
All proceeds will be donated to
Ospedale San Raffaele and final amount will be tripled for all donations from LinkedIn employees
