Pamela Carmo Cancer Recovery Fund

Hey friends. Our family needs your help. On August 14th our wonderful, strong, loving mother Pamela was rushed to the hospital with life threatening health issues including kidney failure. This came as a major shock to us all and was completely unexpected. The hospital stay lasted 3 weeks, both in and out of the ICU, and included two emergency surgeries to save her life. She was finally discharged Labor Day Weekend and recovery has been happening in a temporary living space. 

 However, this is just the beginning of her long journey ahead. We learned while at the hospital that the cause of these health issues is a tumor located in her abdomen, and this growth is unfortunately the result of advanced stage cervical cancer. The size of the  tumor had caused stress to her body that affected the ability for certain vital organs to function correctly. Thus, she underwent the emergency surgeries, and thankfully they were successful, however they have resulted in some potentially life altering changes. Now that Pamela is stabilized, we are prepared to go at this head on and defeat the cancer. With positive thoughts from all of you, and a strong will from her, we know she will come out of this challenge healthier and stronger than ever! 

 So this is where your help is needed. Pamela unfortunately does not have health insurance. We are exploring options moving forward to help address this, but in the short term she has multiple doctor visits and other medical needs that carry with them a significant financial cost. Eventually she will begin cancer treatment, which will include a mix of both radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Moreover, as the nature of her condition does not allow her to work, she has no income to help with certain necessary expenses such as rent and putting nutritious, healthy food on the table. We are doing our best given the situation but we can't do it alone. Your donation will be used to directly finance the mounting costs of Pamela's medical care, as well as help assist in daily household and living expenses. She needs to be completely focused on beating this, so let's make an extremely difficult circumstance just a little bit easier for her.
