Pam Bowden's Make A Wish

Donation protected

Pam's Journey: For over a year now, Pam Bowden has been fighting a brave and inspirational battle against stomach cancer.  She learned late in 2011 that she had Stage 4 stomach cancer after suffering from abdominal pain and an inability to keep food down.  During surgery later that year she learned that the cancer had metastisized, resulting in two rounds of chemotheraphy.  Through it all, Pam's faith in God has remained strong and she hasn't lost her rock star smile that lights up the room.

While she has had the daily support of her daughters, friends, and church community, the majority of Pam's family has had to offer support from a distance.  Now that Pam has moved into the hospice care phase of her battle, she has expressed a wish to see many of these distant family members.  Since she cannot travel, a group of her friends have agreed to set up this page in the hopes that Pam's friends, loved ones and others who are moved by Pam's story will contribute to a fund.

How will the money be used?
The immediate goal is to bring Pam's parents and three of her siblings to see her, along with neices and a nephew, for a total of 10 people. The money you contribute will be used to provide for their transportation and hotel accommodations while they are in Minnesota visiting Pam.  We are working closely with businesses and other local contacts to ensure that whatever provisions we make are economical, yet comfortable and convenient for all.

What if we raise more money than we need to bring the family here?
First we would praise God for such favor and generosity from Pam's supporters!  Any additional money above the money needed to bring her family members here will be donated to stomach cancer research and prevention in Pam's honor. Unlike breast cancer, Pam feels stomach cancer does not get the attention that it deserves. While she has been an outspoken supporter of stomach cancer prevention and such a donation would greatly honor her work.

What else can I do in addition to giving financially?
The $3,000 goal might seem like a lot of money. A small donation of even $5 or $10 dollars will make a difference.  You can also encourage others around you to match your donation by sharing a link to this page in your email or on your Facebook page.  If you would like to give in non-financial ways, please send your donation ideas to [email redacted]
