 At 25 years old and just weeks before Christmas, David was given devastating news from his doctor. The severe gastrointestinal symptoms and inability to swallow were being caused by a tumor in his brain. Diagnosed with a grade 4 Glioblastoma on his brain stem, David was in for the fight for his life.  After brain surgery to remove most of the tumor, he continued to develop additional symptoms. His vision was affected and eventually he was also unable 

to speak.  He endured Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments which have not been successful. He then needed surgery to place a feeding tube to receive nutrition. After several episodes of aspiration, David now relies on a ventilator to breathe, to prevent aspiration and to ensure his oxygen remains at a safe level. 

Arriving in the United States at the age of 16, David worked to help support his family back in Mexico. He quickly became a part of The A Cut Above family, and our family. All who know him would agree that he has the biggest heart and a great work ethic. We and his family are heartbroken that he is going through this as his life was only beginning.
