Paisley's story ❤️
Birthdate: March 27, 2013
As I go back to our first nightmare the feelings are in overload. Paisley was around 3 months old when she jumped out of her daddy's arms and landed on her side on the concrete, we rushed her to the emergency vet because she seemed shook up, after a full check over and some pain meds they sent us home and said she was fine. She started to feel better then at 3 1/2 months she was coming down our front steps and stepped wrong sort of tripping and fell over whelping and crying. I saw that her leg was broken. So we once again rushed her back to the emergency vet (it was a Sunday night around 10pm) I will never forget the 45 min ride there she was miserable. The emergency vet in Wilson NC said that this break was beyond them, She she would need to see her regular vet the next morning. They gave her pain medicine and sent us home. That was one of the worst nights she was in so much pain and couldn't get comfortable. We saw our home vet and this too was beyond them she had to be referred to a specialist. So we drove an hour away to VSH in Cary, NC they told us that this break was across the growth plate and that she needed surgery to try to fix it, the amazing doctors worked on my girl for 2 hours but her soft little bones wouldn't hold the pins and plates needed to fix her leg so we were left with a decision to amputate or fuse her leg. In her best interest we chose to amputate. This was on July 8, 2013.
About a month after she started experiencing her legs would give out after running and playing for about 5mins. (Video below) The doctors thought this was neurological and suggested an MRI, but it didn't seem to bother her so we decided to wait and watch her.
It's now been about 10 months since her amputation and she has started a new head twitch I was praying it was an ear infection but the vet said her ears were perfect. They said that this looked like "Chiari-malformation" The only way to be sure of what is going on is to do an MRI and go from there. I have also noticed a lot of air licking which i read can be a symptom of this disease. (Video below of her symptoms) She's been such an inspiration and such a little fighter i know that she can get through this!
We have decided to try go fund me to help with her medical bills, we were so overwhelmed with her amputation cost and we couldn't stomach the thought of this MRI.
We are very grateful and so appreciative of every little bit that anyone is willing to donate for our sweet tripawd girl, to be able to receive her MRI and get answers. She is like a child to us and holds a very special place in the hearts of many! ❤️❤️❤️

Aug. 31 2014:
We have now had her MRI (2500$) which showed that she has two malformations in her neck.
1. Chiari malformation
2. Atlantoaxial Instability Malformation
Not long after our visit with the NC State Vet School, Paisley had a seizure, so I called and they scheduled an EEG.(250$) The EEG showed epileptic activity, and that she was in a constant seizure. (Focal seizure she's very twitchy all the time) The doctors have never seen this before and are referring her results to another neurologist. For now they started her on Zonisamide(54$/month) with her Gabapentin(50$/3month). Hoping we will see some change.
With everything she has been through she is a fighter! And for sure an inspiration to many! I have had so many ask what they can do to help I tell them prayers first and foremost, and I decided to change the title to her page and just leave it open for any donations to help us with her monthly medication, another EEG to see of the medication is helping, further testing, office visits, or any other medical expense that may arise.
