After being in the hospital for 34 days, Paige was finally able to go home yesterday (10/7). She still has a long road to recovery, but will hopefully be more comfortable during the process. Along with daily injections and IVs, Paige will be seen weekly by a Home Health Aide. Please continue to keep Paige and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
A Pasta Dinner Fundraiser has been scheduled for Sunday, November 11th from 11am-2pm at Ralston Middle School.

On September 4th, 2018 Paige was admitted to Bergan Mercy Hospital with Endocarditis. The aortic heart valve that she underwent open heart surgery to replace in February of 2017 was now full of infection. After a week at Bergan, it was decided that Paige would have to be transferred to Children’s Hospital on September 11th to prepare for another open heart surgery to remove the infection.
Shortly after arriving to Children’s, Paige was sent to the ICU for an irregular heart rhythm. On the morning of September 13th, Paige’s heart stopped suddenly and she had to be resuscitated. This made surgery even more of an emergency, and so at 4:30pm that afternoon they took her to the operating room to cut out the infection and perform the Ross Procedure to remove the damaged aortic valve and replace it with the pulmonary valve. She was in surgery close to 8 hours!
After the surgery she was left with an external pacemaker to monitor how the heart is doing before they place the permanent one in. Paige will have her permanent pacemaker/defibrillator put in October 4th and is hoping to get to go home the following week, approximately 30 days after entering the ICU.
We are asking for any help possible with all of her medical bills and/or to help with everyday expenses as Paige and her mom have been off work with no pay. Thank you in advance for all of your generosity!
