Pagosa Destination Imagination

7 Wheels On An Empty Bus placed second in the state competition of Destination Imagination in Denver on April 7th. This qualified them to move on to compete at the global level. We will travel to Knoxville, TN, May 23-27 to compete against students from 15 countries and 45 states. This is a great honor but it means we have to raise a lot of money in a short period of time.
               Destination Imagination is a creativity competition that teaches students to think outside the box, problem solve, and work together. The challenges they work to solve encompass art, acting, improvisation, as well as science, technology, engineering, and math.   This team has been working on this challenge since September and they will also compete in an “instant challenge”. This is where the team walks into a room and have to solve whatever challenge is presented to them in 5- 10 minutes. Destination Imagination is a program that helps student problem solve and find solutions using a variety of academic fields.  This skill will benefit them their whole life.
                 The team will be doing bake sales and a performance dinner, among other things, for those of you locally. The money we are raising will cover travel to Knoxville (which is not an easy thing from Pagosa) and entrance fees as well as room and board there.
