Help Make Karen’s Dream Come True!

My wife Karen has Stage IV Breast Cancer and unfortunately her work as a sign language interpreter does not provide for paid time off. Karen hasn’t had a real vacation since 1994 when we drove up to Quebec City on our honeymoon. That was nearly 24 years ago! We’re hoping to raise funds for her and my children to take their first, and most likely last, vacation together.
It was 4 years ago when Karen was first diagnosed with breast cancer, but it was too late. The cancer had already metastasized. It’s spread into the bones in her body and most recently, to the lining of her stomach. As a MBC patient (Metastatic Breast Cancer) she has undergone 30 radiation treatments, chemotherapies and countless monthly injections and infusions. She’s a true fighter and has a tremendous zest for life!
Karen also has a huge heart and has single handedly raised over $2000 for various organizations over the years, including the Red Cross Disaster Relief after Hurricane Katrina and the One Fund Boston after the marathon bombing on April 15, 2013. Ironically, her greatest benefactor has been for Breast Cancer Awareness, hosting yard sales every October to raise the funds to donate.
Karen yearns to make lasting memories with our children while she still can. They are now 19 and 21. They’re both really great kids and have been through so much. They too deserve this special time with their mother. My family is longing for a trip together to Orlando to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Disneyworld, while I stay home to tend to our furry family members.
