Crossing 'The Channel' for Al

Donation protected
Ali Sheehan is a mate who was recently diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. The cancer has spread to her spine. It is incurable. Ali is only 34 years old and aside from being a local girl and great mate to everyone, more importantly she is a partner to Adam and mum to their little boy Jack, who is almost 2.
Ali has undergone numerous rounds of chemo, radiation and surgery in an effort to do everything she can to fight this disease and be around to see her little fella grow up. At the moment she is doing continuous chemo in an attempt to shrink the tumors and buy more time with to spend with Adam and Jack. Ali wants to try any available treatment or trial to prolong her life.
Ali can no longer work and Adam has quit his job in order to care for Ali and Jacko. As you can imagine the medical bills and general living expenses without an income has been pretty tough on the family.
We all know that cancer doesn't discriminate - this could have happened to any of us. Right up until her own diagnosis Ali was campaigning for Children's Cancer, even shaving her own head for charity. So now it's our time to give Ali a hand.
As a husband and a dad to a young fella myself this really hit home. I'm not real good at much else so I've decided to do the 2015 Molokai World Championships as a fundrasier for Ali and her family.
This event is a 52km ocean ski race from the island of Molokai, crossing the Kaiw'i Channel and finishing at Oahu, Hawaii.
I have 16 weeks to get from flab to fit to finish this race and do Ali proud while raising some decent coin for her.
Each week I will post my training regime to help me stay motivated and I'm going to try and lay off the pies for a while as well. I'll also be hassling you all to donate for this very worthy cause.
All travel, accom, race fees etc will be met by me so rest assured every cent you donate will go directly to Ali and her fight against cancer,  not my meat pie addiction.
Whether it be $5, $20, $50 or more, every bit counts and is tax deductible.
Remember this could have happened to any of us - so get on board and help Ali in the fight of her life.
