Austin's Medical School Tuition

Donation protected
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a physician.  I was a Miracle Child when I was born and spent the first twelve years of my life in and out of hospitals receiving one treatement and surgery after the next.  While other children were playing outside and dreaming of being the next star pitcher for the Yankees, I was watching the doctors around me working hard to make a difference every single day.  Growing up with the hospital as a second home, I watched and studied all of my physicians and aspired to become one myself.  I studied hard throughout my undergraduate studies at Francis Marion University and have accomplished a great deal there.  I have been on the president and dean's list every semester, worked on research for over two years, held five different jobs on campus, and won the Biology Research Award that is only handed out to one student per year.  I have embraced my education and taken every opportunity available to me to achieve my dreams of medical school.  These dreams were solidified when I received my acceptance to Ross University School of Medicine.  I am set to move and begin my studies towards my medical license on April 12, 2015.  In order to attend the school, I have to have $11,500 paid by that date.  I have secured $7,000 in loans with my father as a cosigner and another $2,000 in personal funds that I have accumulated from working on campus.  I have tried everything possible to come up with the other $2,500 but nothing has panned out.  I am desperate to get the remaining part of the tuition so that I can continue to pursue my dreams of becoming a family practioner in a rural clinic in the Appalachian region.  With so many people in need of healthcare and aid at an affordable cost in low-income areas, I would hate to see my passions, skills, and desire to work with this group of people go to waste because I was unable to come up with the remaining $2,500.  I am asking for $3,600 so that I can pay for an apartment as well, but that is not my main priority.  I will gladly live out of my car for as long as I have to if it means being able to go to school.  Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
