Bogart

Bogart bloated this evening at 10:30pm. His stomach was filled with food and flipped over in his abdomen. Without emergency surgery bloat is fatal. As I write this, he is in surgery and hopefully pulling through. After my own emergency and 2 weeks in the hospital, funds are exhausted. His life saving surgery is estimated at a minimum of $5000. My immediate family and I have scraped together every last penny to come up with the 50% down payment in order for them to do the surgery, and I am doing everything in my power to come up with the other half for him. Anyone that has met him knows just how incredible the guy is. Bogart a retired therapy dog, go-to office dog for hugs, naps, and comfort for stressed out shelter staff and volunteers. He's donated blood for shelter dogs in critical condition, and has helped me set up hundreds of fosters for success. He's played loving big brother to kittens, puppies, large, small, senior, behaviorally challenged, terrified, you-name-it foster dogs and helped me see them through to an amazing home. He's helped foster pot belly pigs, injured rabbits, goats, and recently made friends with horses. He's never met a single person that he doesn't immediately consider a best friend, and is especially loving and affectionate towards children of all ages. I cannot imagine losing this guy so early and I would be lost without him. Any donation, no matter how small, will help save the life of a dog that has helped to save so many others.
