Disability Awareness

Donation protected
It was on January 10 of 2015 when Aman, his wife Misgana and their best friend Asmeret were passengers in a car accident. Tragically, Asmeret, a fun-loving, kind and energetic young woman, immediately lost her life. Misgana sustained a head injury resulting in a 3-week coma and has miraculously recovered. Aman, who was about to finish his Civil Engineering studies sustained a severe spinal cord injury.

As you can imagine, this event has changed their lives forever.
Throughout the past four years, Aman and Misgana have been humbled by the love and support they received. So many of their friends, families and even strangers have been supporting them in their longer recovery.

One of the most heartwarming feelings for Aman and Misgana was to witness the hundreds of visitors in the hospital inquiring about them, bringing food and drinks, after they sustained their injury. It revealed the power and impact of having a generous community. It was truly remarkable.

Knowing how important this support has been in their own journey, they are now compelled to give back. They know that there are so many members of the community suffering from visible and invisible disabilities who are not as privileged to receive such generous support.

Therefore, this event is organized by Aman and Misgana, supported by a group of friends, for two purposes. First, to raise funds to help disabled community in Eritrea. Second, to raise awareness and sensitivity among the general public about inclusion and accessibility.

We hope that you will join us: Aman, Misgana with their friends and family to help us raise funds for the cause of Disability Awareness on June 1st 2019 at Pero Restaurant and Lounge @perorestaurant.
Tickets are $50. If you cannot join us, please feel free to donate here.

We hope that you will open your eyes and heart to the power of a simple act of kindness!
