In its 19th year of publishing, Cutthroat is a completely independent entity. We are not supported by any corporation or institution. Cutthroat is committed to publishing writing that is diverse and addresses issues such as Equity, Climate Crisis, Human Rights, Immigrant Rights, Gay and Gender Rights, Women's Rights including abortion rights, Animal Rights, Wilderness Preservation, Free Speech, etc. Our contributors include Alice Anderson, Rita Dove, Camille Dungy, Martin Espada, Carolyn Forche, Joy Harjo, Hannah Hindley, Linda Hogan, Erin Hollowell, J Drew Lanham, Pam Houston, Derek Sheffield, Patricia Spears Jones, Jesse Tsinijinnee Maloney, Alberto Rios, Peggy Shumaker, Luis Alberto Urrea, Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, Lidia Yuknavich and many others. Our diverse editors include Guest Short Story Editor, Fenton Johnson, Nonfiction Editors, CMarie Fuhrman and J. Drew Lanham, Guest Poetry Editor, Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, and Poetry Editors, Howie Faerstein, Teri Hairston, Mark Lee, Jesse Tsinijinnie Maloney, and William Pitt Root. We depend on donations to continue publishing as well as to fund scholarships for our Creative Writing Mentorship Program. PLEASE HELP US WITH ANY SIZE DONATION. Any donation over $100 receives their choice of an anthology we've published: Truth to Power: Writers Respond to the Rhetoric of Hate and Fear; Puro Chicanx Writers of the 21st Century or Through the Ash, New Leaves, writings devoted to the Climate Crisis. PLEASE BE GENEROUS. WE NEED TO RAISE $10,000. We have raised a third of that. Publishing, advertising, mailing and shipping costs keep spiraling up up up. We have published many first time publication writers as well as known writers. Perhaps we've even published you. Can you please help us? All money collected this round will fund the publication of CT 28 THE NATURE OF NATURE AND HUMAN NATURE as well as fund a scholarship for a low income writer to attend a writing workshop. Thank you so much for your generosity!
