Kelly Wallen

On behalf of the Wallen family, I come humbly before you to ask for your financial support for my dear sister-in-law, Kelly Wallen. Kelly has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive thyroid cancer, Anaplastic Neoplasm Carcinoma. Let me tell you about the woman and family that you would be helping.

Kelly is a devout Christian, who has built her life around living the gospel message. She has affected so many women and their families through her willingness to come alongside people to show them what living their faith looks like. Her self-sacrifice has inspired many to choose to live for God. This includes countless hours of face-to-face ministry and foster care for young children. She is a wife, and mother of 3, one of whom is in the care of Jesus, leaving this world upon birth. Kelly is the kind of mom that we all wish we had. She is very attentive, patient and puts her children's needs ahead of her own.

Her oldest son is Alex. A wonderful young man who proudly serves in the National Guard. Her youngest son Asher is 5 years old and is as sweet and pure as they come. He has already overcome a lot in his little life struggling with some of his development but is thriving through Kelly’s unwavering commitment to him and his needs.

Kelly is a devoted wife to Josh. Her care and support for her husband have been a testament to others about what it means to truly love someone. They have been married for almost 16 years. Josh who is a nurse has had to take a step back from working full time to attend several medical appointments with Kelly as well as care for their young son.

This cancer diagnosis has devastated everyone, and now this beautiful family needs your help and support. With this rare cancer that is progressing rapidly, time is of the essence. There are but a few options for treatment, as surgical intervention is not safe to do at this point. The doctors have started her on Chemo-therapy however; with this being such a rare cancer, her prognosis is 3-6 months and that is with aggressive treatment. As some of you may well know, insurance will not cover every cost associated with fighting cancer. Currently, the out-of-pocket expenses are a staggering $900.00 per month. This does not even include a specific diet that Kelly has been advised to follow, as well as additional supplements and herbs. Additional treatments including hyperbaric chambers are estimating at another 2,000$ per month.There is a treatment center that is currently being considered, which may require Kelly to go out of state. And as you can imagine, all the secondary bills that will be accrued as Josh will need to take some time off of work to support his beautiful wife while she is in the fight of her life. I don’t say that lightly, this fight will be one that will take every effort and strength. As her sister-in-law, friend and representative of this fundraising, please consider donating. None of us can imagine a world where Kelly is not in it, and money should not be a hindrance in receiving possibly life-saving treatments. Any amount is helpful and appreciated and please share with your network of people. Together, we can bless this family with some peace of mind and remove the financial burden that fighting cancer creates.

The money that has been donated is very much appreciated and Kelly has been able to start her treatments. The funding will ensure 3 months of treatments, let’s continue to raise funds for the care that she will continue to need in the coming months.
