Ryan's Medical Fund

On October 31 2017 Ryan Corbin will undergo open heart surgery for the 3 time in his life. Ryan has complex, congenital heart defects. The main heart defect is called Tricuspid Atresia. Which means he has no tricuspid valve. His first open heart surgery was at age 4. He then had a pacemaker put in at age 11. He had a 2nd open heart surgery at age 12. His pacemaker has been replaced several times already. During his upcoming 3rd open heart surgery on Oct 31 at TX Children’s Hospital in Houston, he will have another pacemaker replacement , due to a broken wire, they will also replace his severely leaking mitral valve with an artificial one, and also make corrections to the “Fontan” shunt that was put it at age 4. This shunt enables the blue blood to get to Ryan’s lungs. Ryan’s heart defects are extremely complicated, and this surgery will be a challenging one. His heart cannot be made normal, but this surgery is absolutely necessary for him at this time due to the needed repairs. We do not know how long his recovery will take, and unfortunately, he will not be paid during his time off work.
