Help P0STB1NARY build radical art ecosystems in DC
P0STB1NARY is a DC-based countercultural ecosystem and music platform dedicated to uplifting the autonomy, safety, wellness, and creative development of Black trans, nonbinary and intersex cultural workers. Through community arts and resource mobilization, we envision a music and art world where capital is not the primary motivation for cultural production. On the contrary, we recognize the importance of art in the fight for our collective liberation.
P0STB1NARY imagines modes of cultural production in direct opposition to oppressive norms and in service of community. In the words of Amilcar Cabral: "You measure a people's potential for liberation based on how different their culture is from their oppressors." To that end, P0STB1NARY acts as a catalyst for the creation and maintenance of ecosystems that nurture the development of our communities and the counter cultures that emerge within them.

This year, our goal is to raise $30,000 for:
Team Expansion ($10k) - P0STB1NARY remains committed to operating with a core team of exclusively Black trans people. Knowing that Black Trans people face multiple obstacles to traditional work, we strive to pay our team at least $25/h.
Chrysalis Fund ($10k) - After redistributing over $20k in one-time grants, we are moving towards reopening grant applications in late Summer 2021 to continue support for Black trans cultural workers in the DMV, Baltimore, and Richmond regions.
Programming ($10k) - These funds will allow us to secure space, materials, and staff necessary to execute the rest of our 2021 activations calendar.

In the past year, we:
Awarded over $20k in micro-grants to nonbinary, trans and intersex people in the DMV, Baltimore and Richmond through Chrysalis Fund.
Launched URL:// Until Real Life - our free virtual programming series, where we hosted live performances and workshops on production, mixing, and DJ’ing.
Partnered with She Shreds Media to redistribute music equipment and hosted PB World Market, giving away thousands of dollars of music gear to trans and gender expansive youth.
