Owen Daly’s Kidney and Family Fund
Donation protected
In February of 2022, Owen was diagnosed with a rare, life-threatening plasma disorder called Monoclonal Gammopathy of Renal Significance. This disease has caused irreversible damage to his kidneys. Owen is now dependent on dialysis 10 hours a day, seven days a week and will continue to undergo chemotherapy and immunotherapy through the fall. This routine is Owen and his wife Kate's new reality until a donor kidney can be found. Owen and Kate share two daughters, Aila, two and Fiona, who is five months old. There is still a long road ahead. Owen, an electrician, is currently unable to work while he continues treatment and waits for a match to receive a transplant. Kate, a nurse at Mass General, recently returned to work on a reduced schedule to help provide financially while still caring for her two young children. Still, it's not enough.
My name is Alison. I am sharing this story as a friend who cares for and loves this family. Watching the pain, uncertainty, and hardship they have faced has been heartbreaking. Donations of any amount would be significant in helping ease the financial burden this young family is facing. Your consideration is so greatly appreciated.
Please continue sharing this story as we still search for a match. If you are interested in being a living donor, please apply by visiting www.mghlivingdonors.org on behalf of Owen Daly, born 11/24/81.
