Overseas Healthcare Placement

I am currently doing Children's Nursing at Edgehill University and i am in my second year. It has been hard getting to this point as i have not always had the best opportunities in life. I have chosen to be a children's nurse because i am passionate about helping children, young people and their families. If it wasn't for the help i received when i was younger from nurses and other support workers i would not be where i am on this course today.  

I am going to be doing a healthcare placement in Zambia in January as a student nurse. The money raised on this page will go towards the remaining balance of the trip. while i am over in Zambia i will be doing a 3 week placement in the paediatric hospital which looks after children who have different illnesses. I will be working with children who are malnourished and have Paediatric HIV. Zambian Health care is very underfunded and i am hoping that by going over to Zambia i can help people who are not as lucky as we are in this country. I will also be doing a week in a rural village where i will be spending time in the villages healthcare centre which offers basic treatments.  The experience and skills i will gain i will be able to use when i come back to England and graduate as a paediatric nurse.  An elective placement is part of my course requirements but i have chosen to go to Zambia which is a developing country so i can get the experience of how hospitals run in developing countries and to help those who are less fortunate than we are in England. 

I will be travelling with work the world which is a organisation that has 10 years experience in organising healthcare placement's overseas.  I have been working hard to raise the funds but i just need a little help to make the final goal. Any money donated will be greatly appreciated
