Overcoming The Darkness 2019

Tax deductible
To celebrate the anniversary of Weird Darkness, every October I take the month and ask you, my Weirdo family, to join me in fundraising for a worthy cause that deals with depression.  Last October was “Battle The Darkness” and you helped raise $2,240 for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline!  This October (2019) we’re OVERCOMING THE DARKNESS and raising funds for the International Foundation for Research and Education of Depression  (iFred)

One of the greatest challenges when dealing with depression is the feeling of hopelessness, that you are alone, and that nobody understands. But you are not alone, and there are many, many others who know what you’re going through – and they are a couple of clicks away.  At iFred.org you can find support groups, peer-to-peer support, learn about hope, and other resources free of charge.

More information: iFred is a 501c3 organization whose primary purpose is to reduce and eventually eradicate the stigma associated with depression. Depression is treatable, yet due to the negative stigma less than 25% of those needing treatment are receiving treatment.  iFred seeks to destigmatize and rebrand the disease using the color yellow, the sunflower and a focus on hope to increase treatment rate to 100%.
