Dear Faithful Friends,
On July 31st, my original YouCaring fundraising site was discontinued, as YouCaring merged with GoFundMe. So, this is my new fundraiser with GoFundMe, and a brief update.
This journey with chronic Lyme (and complications) has been much more difficult and persistent than I could have ever imagined. Thank you so much for hanging in there with me... Your love, support and prayers have kept me going!
Sadly, things went from bad to worse this past year. The toxicity of my previous living situation, the stress of finding a place to live that met my health specifications, and the move itself, took an unfortunate toll on my health.
The first half of this year is a blur of pain and agony. I truly felt I had come to the end of my life. My condition declined dramatically, to the point where it became difficult to walk, to breathe, and to tolerate life. The pain and weakness have never been so unbelievable, nor unbearable.
Thankfully, being settled in one place since December (after moving 7 times in the past 2 years) has helped me to stabilize enough to figure out and start up several comprehensive protocols that seem ideal for the complex situation of my condition, and can be done at home. I am doing a combination of things, which gently address each aspect of my health—body, soul and spirit.
For the first time in a long time, I feel the slightest progress. My hope has been restored that my time on this earth is not over. Not only that, but there is the hope of seeing the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Psalm 27:13).
However, the health regimens and protocols I am on are rigorous and consuming. In my condition, each day feels like an endurance event. Also, my medical expenses are at least $700/month, sometimes more. As it is, I have a difficult time making ends meets on a disability income. So all of my out-of-pocket medical expenses still have to come from outside sources.
This is a fundraiser, so of course, if you are able to contribute towards medical expenses, that would be such a blessing! I have found that small, monthly gifts are also helpful for me to continue with the protocols that are longer-term. I am SO grateful to those of you who have generously made it possible for me to get the care and to do the treatments necessary to maintain as well as I have! I continue to be AMAZED at how the Lord provides just what I need, when I need it most!
But I would also appreciate your continued prayers! So many times, when things look bleak or alarming... reaching out for prayer makes all the difference for me!
Who knew what a long and intense battle this would be! But your love, your prayers, your help, and your encouragement enables me to endure. My heart overflows with gratitude towards each of you who have continued to fight together with me.
