Save After School! Sherman Outdoor Ed Needs Help!

Our students need your help to continue thriving in the outdoors! Help us make an impact by donating to Sherman Elementary Public School's Outdoor Education Program!

The community at Sherman is strong and resilient, and we have risen to the challenges of these times by creating a brand new program based in our local parks to keep our student safe, healthy and thriving.

Over the past few months we have seen just how successful this type of education can be.  Nature-based learning has been the perfect balance for our students who have been in school virtually for the first half of the day. Our classes take place in sand dunes, under the redwood trees, and next to a natural spring. Our students are building their social-emotional learning, increasing their STEM knowledge, and amplifying their San Francisco history by tracking animal foot prints, identifying local animals, and building with materials of the forest (sticks, rock, mud)! Take a moment to listen to our family testimonials to hear just how beneficial this program has been to them - click here

We hope to support other schools and programs to develop similar initiatives across the city. However, due to major cuts in funding and heavy reliance on family fees and our commitment to serve all of our families regardless of ability to pay,  our program is struggling to stay afloat.

Where will donated funds go?
All funds donated will go directly back into the Outdoor Education program to keep us running and help cover scholarship spots to make this program accessible to all our students.

Our educators are dependent on this job, our families dependent on this support, and our children need this crucial opportunity to connect with nature and their peers.

Any donation will help and you can increase your impact by sharing this with any in your community - especially those who are committed to conservation and outdoor education.
