Our sweet Mason.

On November 3, 2009, Matt, Kori's then boyfriend now husband, was sitting outside our house in Oak Ridge one evening when he saw a teeny tiny kitten fall into the road out of a moving car. He immediately ran out into the road, scooped him up, wrapped him in his jacket and brought him inside. Thankfully he just had a few scrapes but was otherwise healthy and unharmed. It took only a few days for us to decide to adopt him and we named him Mason Storm. He also goes by Mace, Macey-boy, poooooks, and pookie bear. We have heard countless times how people think he acts more dog-like than cat-like because of his super sweet, happy, outgoing personality. He lovessss cuddles and to be carried around, waits by the door when you get home from work (he's our watch kitty!), and loves pretty much every food that exists except gluten free bread. ;) Sadly, on June 2, 2017, our sweet baby boy was diagnosed with lymphoma in his liver and a UTI. He and his purrsiblings, Rachel and Jackson, have never been anything but healthy, and he had only started showing signs of being sick about 2 weeks prior to his diagnosis so we were shocked to say the least. A hectic whirlwind of decisions took place, and we immediately decided to get him on medicine, a feeding tube, and start chemo that day. Statistically, cats show a positive response to chemo and have a great chance at remission so at this point, we are hoping and praying big time that he not only gets into remission, but that he's able to live at least several more healthy, happy years. He has responded well thus far, he's back to being energetic, hungry, cuddly, talkative, and playful making our hearts feel less heavy and more hopeful. We love our furbabies more than anyone can imagine, and we want to ensure we do everything to keep them healthy and happy. Thank you to each of you that have helped emotionally and been there for us, it means the world to us.
